Growing up Saginaw, Michigan., where people were dedicated and did what they said, Claudie, an Apache, was born with fetal alcohol syndrome and has spent his entire life in and out of homelessness. Though he found connection in nature, especially the water, by the time Claudie was an adult the local job market was merely nostalgia, the jobs having dried up long before; the peoples dedication to their jobs and bosses had been one sided.​​ Born to a community in the process of breaking, Now, Claudie works to rebuild his life, while helping others do the same through Over-Drawn.

Claudie's combination of mediums presents a compelling contrast when combined with his hybrid American-Indian/street-outsider style that resonates with the quiet rebel in us all. In the end Claudie hopes his art will help others open their minds to diverse ways of looking at life and the world.
